etsy shop sale: everything £5 and under

as i was wading through my possessions over the weekend, i stumbled upon a load of old stock that had expired on my etsy page. i'm hoping once uni's over and done with i'll land on my feet and end up moving out somewhere, so in preparation for such events i thought i'd try to shift some stock and free up some space by reducing it all and popping it back up for sale in my etsy shop. here's what i have to offer...

i've had a completely unproductive week since moving into my student house last saturday, but hey, you can allow yourself a week for settling in, seeing friends, and getting drunk more times than is necessary during freshers week, right?!

while i've not created any new illustrations this week, i have had a play around with my doggy design and turned it into some super sweet bunting to decorate my room with and i'm thinking it looks pretty good! i also picked up a print from our freshers society stall on tuesday because it had a slight mark from pink-tac on the top left corner and so wasn't suitable for sale, and although i'm not too sure how i feel about decorating my room with my own work, i know i'm still really pleased with the illustration as a whole. 

speaking of the freshers fair, here's a picture one of our tutors snapped of me and a couple of others on my course as we were heading outside to try and sell a few prints. we had an incredibly successful day, making just over £200 by selling our own prints and freshers guides that we'd put together and we couldn't be more pleased to have kickstarted our new blood fundraising so fantastically – here's to hoping the rest of our fundraising efforts are just as successful!

i did it, i finally did it – i completed my doggy a - z! i've been working on this on and off since around may, but finally got around to painting it up properly and arranging it digitally over the last week. i began sketches for an a - z piece back in may, and since then i've been on and off experimenting with paints, pencils and digital colouring to decipher just what medium would do my doggies justice, and the answer lied within the simplicity that is my watercolours.

i haven't used watercolours to illustrate for a very long time, and i must say i've been having lots of fun using them again. i took a much more gutsy approach (for me at least!) when creating these, simply putting paint straight to paper without a pencil guide, and i'm pretty pleased with the results. it's meant that i've had to work as i go along, being much more ballsy with my paint application rather than painting tentatively to ensure the outcome is as i imagined it, and it's been kind of relieving and extremely rewarding because i'm so pleased with how they look – yippee!

i made a couple of promises workwise in last week's saturday scribbles, and although lazily, i've actually managed to stick to them! all in all it's been a mostly unproductive week, but i've worked my way through five commissioned magnets, doodled up some jewellery ideas and began making them, and finally gotten around to completing some more dogs for my doggy a-z, which i plan to finish off for good this weekend (come on robyn!!) when that's completed and i'm happy with it, i then want to move onto a hand written typography project i've been wanting to tackle all summer so it can be completed before my move back to university, but again it's going to require me to make an extra effort to bloody well motivate myself, which so far i've really struggled to do; there's just something so appealing about wasting away my days watching daytime television with my mum, sigh.

so after spending a while playing around with clay, i've finally gotten around to adding my creations to my etsy shop for you to snap up if you so wish it!
