victory rolls have become my hairstyle of choice lately on second/third day hair because now i've mastered them they're so blummin' quick and easy to do, and also work well on the unwashed, slightly textured hair that my hair seems to become after a few spritzes of dry shampoo. perfect! i'm also at a weird stage of 'do i or don't i want to grow out my fringe?' so i keep opting for either a side or centre parting to keep my overgrown fringe out of my eyes. will i manage to grow it out? probably not, going by the previous failed attempts i've previously made to do so.

i snagged this kimono from a charity shop for £1.50, and i'm a little bit in love with it. my friend told me the other day that his friend said to him "i would dress like robyn, but i can't afford to shop at topshop" and it had me laughing for quite a while. topshop? me? does she not know how incredibly tight i am with my money?! i guess i'd kind of like to use that comment to back up my point of you don't need a lot of money to be able to dress how you like, you just need a good eye and a little bit of patience to find stuff for pennies in charity shops, and often primark. a flattering comment none the less, i guess!

hello everybody! i've neglected my blog a little over the last week due to the deadline madness that's taken over my life recently regarding university projects, however i'm back again this saturday with an outfit of the day and a little video i threw together for it! i edited the video back in november but never actually got around to publishing it, so please do excuse the fact that the video states it's a november ootd! i think i'm going to go back to publishing ootd posts once a week because i just no longer have the time to be taking enough outfit photos to warrant posting twice a week, so i send my apologies for that - who knows, maybe it'll make way for more illustration work? we'll see! hopefully i'll have lots to show you over the next couple of weeks anyway!

to quickly summarise, i picked these trousers up from a charity shop for a measly £1.50! i've always been a little bit in love with tweed, namely blazers, so i absolutely couldn't leave these in the charity shop despite the fact that they were a size 16 and required a little (lot) of d.i.y before they were at all wearable. i think i did a pretty good job of it in the end and i think the end result is pretty flattering - not bad for £1.50! have you recently picked up any charity shop bargains?

i remember falling in love with this shirt the first time i laid eyes on it because the pattern was just so bloody adorable, and also because it looked more like something zara would stock rather than primark. i didn't buy it the first time i saw it, however, because i was trying to save money, but then when i saw it in the sale a couple of months later for a mere five pounds, i decided it was fate and i just couldn't leave it!

everything i'm wearing here was either bought late 2012/early 2013, so unless you're willing to trawl ebay, you probably won't be able to find any of these exact items still in stores! however, i'm sure there'll be very similar skirts and boots floating around somewhere on the high street because they're very much still in fashion this autumn/winter.

i opted for something a little more simple this week as i feel the trousers speak for themselves and don't particularly need to be heavily accessorised. i'm very much a skirt and dress person, but after seeing so many bloggers wear beautifully patterned trousers so well, i just couldn't help myself and had to try a pair out! much to my surprise, i quite liked how i looked in trousers and opted for this pair from primark because they were cheap (as you'd expect!) without looking cheap - don't you think the subtle floral pattern is just gorgeous?! i wondered if the floral cut out top would be too much over the floral trousers when i picked the two up together, but was pleasantly surprised in the changing rooms when the two seemed to sit together so nicely, with the cut out sections complementing and seeming to emphasise the more bold pattern underneath.
