Lady in Berlin

Berlin was full of people on bikes, but one lady in particular caught my eye as she peddled her tiny poodle around the city. I originally sketched this illustration out while I was back at my dad's house in Germany, and I finally got around to colouring it up properly yesterday.

etsy shop sale: everything £5 and under

as i was wading through my possessions over the weekend, i stumbled upon a load of old stock that had expired on my etsy page. i'm hoping once uni's over and done with i'll land on my feet and end up moving out somewhere, so in preparation for such events i thought i'd try to shift some stock and free up some space by reducing it all and popping it back up for sale in my etsy shop. here's what i have to offer...

days are forgotten

hat: h&m
dress: charity shop
belt: primark
necklace: topshop (old)
ring: craft market
jacket: ebay
bag: ebay
boots: internacionale (via blog sale)

i wore this out on bank holiday monday for my trip to whitby, and due to not having time to photograph it on the day, i thought i'd throw it back on yesterday to get a few snaps for today's post. i last wore this dress back in february teamed up with my black fur coat and super thick tights, and i think it's fair to say that it's made a pretty damn good transitional piece teamed up with my leather jacket and a pair of 15 denier tights now it's a bit warmer.

i'm a bit weird about all my accessories having to be the same colour, and because of this my brown bag here has been in hibernation for quite some time due to my lack of brown shoes. this all turned around with the purchase of these boots, making it easy to tie a brown bag and belt in with them due to the brown colour on the heel, but it also means i can opt for black accessories too if i fancy them, so altogether i think they were a pretty smart purchase!

floral kimono

floral kimono: charity shop
black cami: primark
necklace: topshop (old)
ring: craft market
bag: ebay
boots: internacionale (via blog sale)

victory rolls have become my hairstyle of choice lately on second/third day hair because now i've mastered them they're so blummin' quick and easy to do, and also work well on the unwashed, slightly textured hair that my hair seems to become after a few spritzes of dry shampoo. perfect! i'm also at a weird stage of 'do i or don't i want to grow out my fringe?' so i keep opting for either a side or centre parting to keep my overgrown fringe out of my eyes. will i manage to grow it out? probably not, going by the previous failed attempts i've previously made to do so.

i snagged this kimono from a charity shop for £1.50, and i'm a little bit in love with it. my friend told me the other day that his friend said to him "i would dress like robyn, but i can't afford to shop at topshop" and it had me laughing for quite a while. topshop? me? does she not know how incredibly tight i am with my money?! i guess i'd kind of like to use that comment to back up my point of you don't need a lot of money to be able to dress how you like, you just need a good eye and a little bit of patience to find stuff for pennies in charity shops, and often primark. a flattering comment none the less, i guess!

if you have a particularly keen eye, you may have noticed my new glasses here. i'm still waiting on my second pair to be delivered to specsavers and made up for me, so stay tuned for a post about them when they arrive!

muted florals

necklace: robynmakesthings
skirt: internacionale
jacket: h&m

shoes: ebay
belt: asos

i'm a day late with this post due to my puppy coming to stay with me and the landlord deciding to come and visit at a totally inconvenient time, but letter late than never, eh? i'm currently making the most of the little bit of warmth we're still managing to cling onto here up north by getting my wear out of this gorgeous illustrated crop top i bought from a stall at the elsecar heritage craft & vintage fair i held a stall at back in july. i find that the colours in this h&m jacket, composed of greys and muted purples, work really well with the crop top and help to provide me a little bit of warmth where needed in this cooler weather!

all summer i was in search of the perfect pair of chunky and/or cut out boots, and after falling in love with the jeffery campbell coltrane boots but not having £150 to spare and there being no decent dupes anywhere to be found, i made do with these boots that i picked up for just £20. all was good and well and i adored my boots up until around a week ago when i spotted some fantastic coltrane dupes in a local shoe shop for just £30... and i suppose that's what i get for being in a rush to own things! there are also some really fab coltrane dupes floating around on ebay at the minute too, so if i hadn't have already spent my money on these boots, i'd have definitely been buying myself a pair of those!
